***Keynote Address by William Ury***

"The Art of No: How to Say No and Still Get to Yes"

Perhaps the key skill needed in today's world, argues the co-author of Getting to Yes, is the ability to say No. How can people set limits and stand up for what is important without damaging valuable relationships? How can the search for justice be combined with the search for peace? How can the process of saying No be combined with the process of getting to Yes? His presentation will address these questions.

William L. Ury, Ph.D., directs the Global Negotiation Project at Harvard University. He has authored several books including the recent The Power of a Positive No: How to Say No & Still Get to Yes (2007) and is co-author, with Roger Fisher, of the bestselling Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In. Over the past three decades Dr. Ury has mediated conflicts ranging from corporate mergers to coalmine wildcat strikes, to ethnic wars.
