Communities around the world celebrated Conflict Resolution Day on the third Thursday of October (October 20), 2005! Events were held in Canada, Portugal and across the United States. The U.S. states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey and Tennessee received gubernatorial or legislative proclamations, and celebrations were held in 22 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

The editors seek proposals from people who would like to write articles on any aspect of this topic. They seek diversity in authors and subject matter; authors do not have to be ACR members. Family Section Mid-Year Conference: July 13–16, 2006 on Cape Cod, MA
ACR’s Family Section will hold a mid-year conference at the Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort and Conference Center in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. Mark your calendars for July 13-16, 2006 for this exciting event! (Former AFM members will remember this as the site for the AFM conference in the 90s.) Ken Neumann and Glenn Dornfeld are the ACR Family Section mid-year conference Co-Chairs.
Family Section Congratulates New Advisory Council President and Members

Georgia Chapter: November 5 Meeting on “Building and Marketing Your Practice”
ACR’s Georgia Chapter (ACR-GA) will hold its next Chapter meeting on Saturday, November 5, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in the Morrow Community Room, in Morrow, GA. The Chapter meeting will focus on “Building and Marketing Your Practice.” This will be the Georgia Chapter’s last Chapter meeting of the year, so make plans to be there!
Northern California Chapter to Hold Mediation Workshop on November 5
ACR’s Northern California Chapter (ADRNC) is pleased to have Stephen H. Sulmeyer, J.D., Ph.D. offer another program to our members and guests, titled “The Psychology of Effective Mediation.” Those who participated in his workshop at the ADRNC conference in April gave it rave reviews and requested additional training. Stephen has graciously agreed to offer a three-hour workshop on November 5 starting at 9:00 a.m. This workshop will be less theoretical and more experientially oriented than the one held in April.
