CONFLICT RESOLUTION QUARTERLY SUBMISSIONS
Conflict Resolution Quarterly is ACR’s
quarterly academic journal. Its mission
is to publish scholarship on relationships
between theory, research, and practice in
the conflict management and dispute resolution
field to promote more effective professional
applications. Articles should be directed
to a multidisciplinary audience and be as
readable and practical as possible. Submissions
and questions regarding editorial matters
should be sent to Tricia S. Jones, Editor,
Conflict Resolution Quarterly, Dept. of
Psychological Studies, College of Education,
Temple University, Philadelphia, PA 19122.
You may also e-mail Tricia at tsjones@astro.temple.edu.
ACRESOLUTION SUBMISSIONS
Planning is now underway for the Spring
and Summer issues of ACResolution magazine.
Anyone wishing to submit a feature article
for the Summer issue, whose theme will be
Restorative and Criminal Justice, should
submit a short abstract or proposal no later
than March 1, 2004. Please send all submissions
to ACResolution's Managing Editor, Mark
Sawchuk, at msawchuk@ACRnet.org, accompanied
by your complete name, contact information,
and primary professional title.
We accept submissions to other departments
of the magazine on a rolling basis. Please
consider submitting to any of the following
departments.
Members in the News
Members in the News, a subsection of the
magazine's In Brief section, is the place
for you to update your fellow ACR members
on recent developments in your life and
professional career. Found an exciting new
job in the field? Appointed to a new position?
Received an award? Write and tell us about
it! Submissions should be no longer than
50 - 100 words, should be accompanied by
a photo in JPEG or TIFF format, scanned
at 300 dpi (you may send a photo hard copy
if an electronic version is not available),
and should note your ACR membership status
and history. Please note that we can only
include news about you once per volume (4
issues). Submissions received in January
will go into the Spring issue (May 2004)
of the magazine.
Learning Matters
We are always looking for short articles
that discuss various aspects of conflict
resolution education in schools, colleges,
and other environments. If you have an experience
to share, please let us know.
Diversity Practices
This section of the magazine is devoted
to best practices in diversity and conflict
resolution and highlights innovative strategies
for effectively responding to conflict within
our increasingly diverse community. (For
this department only, send submissions to
Contributing Editor Dr. Benjamin Reese at
reesources1@aol.com.)

INTERNATIONAL SECTION UPDATE
ACR's October 2003 Orlando Conference brought
International Section members together from
throughout the world and was a great success!
The Section organized a Joint Meeting and
Reception with the Consumer Section that
hosted presentations about conflict resolution
in different countries and regions of the
world. The featured guest was Dr. Petronio
Muñiz from Brazil, the co-author
of Brazil's arbitration law. Led by colleagues
from the Latin American ADR Committee, Section
members had an excellent dialogue about
interpretation and Hispanic programming
for the 2004 Sacramento conference.
In other news, the Section is continuing
to work on its quarterly newsletter International
Section News, and is excited to announce
quarterly articles in Spanish, beginning
in February, as well as a future English-Spanish
Web page. The Section also submitted a grant
proposal to CRInfo for funding to edit certain
portions of the existing CRInfo.org database
in the areas of the Middle East, Africa,
Europe, Southeast Asia and Latin America,
and for data collection on conflict and
alternative dispute resolution throughout
Latin America to add to CRInfo.org. We are
looking forward to an exciting 2004!
