ACR Privacy Policy
Updated 4-26-04

The Association for Conflict Resolution seeks to assure that users of the ACRnet.org Web site are always aware of any information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

We respect each user’s right to personal privacy. To that end, we collect and use information throughout our Web site only as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. As there are changes to this policy, we will post them on this page. This statement applies solely to information collected on the ACRnet.org Web site.

What Information We Collect:

For each visitor to our web site, our web servers do not automatically recognize any information regarding the domain or e-mail address of the user.

The information we collect is:
1) used to improve the content of our Web site
2) used to notify visitors and members of organizational updates
3) never shared with other companies for commercial purposes.

While this site uses cookies to remember users’ passwords and login information, etc, neither the site nor our servers store credit card and bank information.

Registering with the Site:

In order to browse the public areas of the ACRnet.org Web site, visitors are not required to register and log in. However, in order to interact with our servers (for example, to register for an event, to purchase a publication, to renew one’s membership or to access the ACR Membership Directory), visitors will need to be registered users and be logged in. Within the registered users group, users may be ACR Members or Prospective Members. Prospective members will not have access to certain content and features that are deemed Members-Only services.

During registration, a user must provide full contact information for communication purposes. We never sell or give away the information for registered users who are not members of the Association. We do, on occasion, sell our membership listing to vendors to distribute materials relevant to the practice and development of conflict resolution. Please check your member record to opt out of this service.

Transferring Information:

When we transfer certain types of sensitive information such as financial or demographic information, we redirect visitors to a secure server and will notify visitors of this feature through a pop-up alert window.
