ACR Privacy Policy

The Association for Conflict Resolution seeks
to assure that users of the ACRnet.org Web site
are always aware of any information we collect,
how we use it and under what circumstances, if
any, we disclose it.
We respect each user’s right to personal
privacy. To that end, we collect and use information
throughout our Web site only as disclosed in this
Privacy Policy. As there are changes to this policy,
we will post them on this page. This statement
applies solely to information collected on the
ACRnet.org Web site.
What Information We Collect:
For each visitor to our web site, our web servers
do not automatically recognize any information
regarding the domain or e-mail address of the
user.
The information we collect is:
1) used to improve the content of our Web site
2) used to notify visitors and members of organizational
updates
3) never shared with other companies for commercial
purposes.
While this site uses cookies
to remember users’ passwords and login information,
etc, neither the site nor our servers store credit
card and bank information.
Registering with the Site:
In order to browse the public areas of the ACRnet.org
Web site, visitors are not required to register
and log in. However, in order to interact with
our servers (for example, to register for an event,
to purchase a publication, to renew one’s
membership or to access the ACR Membership Directory),
visitors will need to be registered users and
be logged in. Within the registered users group,
users may be ACR Members or Prospective Members.
Prospective members will not have access to certain
content and features that are deemed Members-Only
services.
During registration, a user must provide full
contact information for communication purposes.
We never sell or give away the information for
registered users who are not members of the Association.
We do, on occasion, sell our membership listing
to vendors to distribute materials relevant to
the practice and development of conflict resolution.
Please check your member record to opt out of
this service.
Transferring Information:
When we transfer certain types of sensitive information
such as financial or demographic information,
we redirect visitors to a secure server and will
notify visitors of this feature through a pop-up
alert window.
