Dear ACR Members and Colleagues,
You will not want to miss the Third Annual
Conference of the Association for Conflict Resolution
(ACR). This four-day program --"The
World of Conflict Resolution: A Mosaic of Possibilities"
-- is the major event of the year for professionals
in the field of conflict resolution. More than
1500 people from across the country and around
the world are expected to attend.
This is an exciting time in the development of
our field and our organization. Your presence
at this conference will help build your career
and support the work of ACR. Many significant
issues will be discussed in Orlando including
ACR's
Quality Assurance Initiatives – our
Advanced Practitioner Membership Category, our
participation in the effort to update the Mediator
Standards of Conduct (jointly developed with ABA
and AAA), and the work of our Certification Task
Force. These conversations will have a significant
impact on the field as a whole. Your presence
ensures that your voice will be heard.
With lots of new energy and activities across
the organization, this year's conference will
be an opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments,
celebrate our successes, and explore how we can
best work together to meet the challenges that
lie ahead. We need YOU to help us create ACR's
future. Come join us in Orlando and be a part
of this important conversation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the members
of the 2003
Conference Program Committee, committee co-chairs
Sharon Press and Paula Trout,
the ACR Staff, and the Board of Directors. They
have put in countless hours to find the best speakers,
plan conference activities, and make sure every
detail was in place.
We want to thank the Florida Dispute
Resolution Center for co-sponsoring this
event and for its financial and logistical support.
We also especially want to acknowledge the William
and Flora Hewlett Foundation for its
invaluable support to ACR and Program Officer
Terry Amsler for his efforts
to help make this conference possible.
So mark your calendar and send in your registration.
We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
