Scholarships and Discounts

Conference Scholarships

ACR offers two types of conference attendance scholarships to its members:

  • Each ACR Chapter may award one Chapter Scholarship to a Chapter member in good standing. This member must also be a member of ACR.

ACR will contribute 50 percent of the conference registration fee, and the Chapter awarding the scholarship will cover the remaining 50 percent. Each Chapter determines its own criteria for awarding the Chapter Scholarship.

If you are interested, please contact the President of your local Chapter. Please note that the Chapter portion of the fee must accompany the registration form.

  • Twenty-five financial aid scholarships are available to ACR members who need financial support in order to attend the 2003 annual conference.

These scholarships cover one half of the early bird conference registration fee of $330 and ensure your eligibility for a discounted sleeping room at the hotel. Financial aid scholarships are for ACR members who are active in the field of dispute resolution as practitioners or conflict resolution educators, but lack the personal financial resources, and/or employer sponsorship, to attend the annual conference.

If you are interested in applying for an ACR financial aid scholarship for the 2003 conference in Orlando, please call Josefa Martinez at (202) 464-9700 ext. 210 or e-mail conferences@acresolution.org.

The application deadline is August 25, 2003. Applicants selected to receive a scholarship will be notified by September 12, 2003.

Volunteer Mediators

In an effort to defray registration expenses, there will be a limited offer of a 30 percent reduction in the main conference fee for ACR members who work as volunteer mediators or provide other voluntary support to community-based programs. This offer is only available to the first 100 volunteer mediators/staff and will be done on a first-come, first-served basis at the time of registration. Proper verification includes providing a letter of certification from your supervisor that establishes your status as volunteer mediator/staff and confirms that this discount will make your attendance possible. This letter must accompany your registration form in order to qualify for the discount. The discount does not apply to pre-conference sessions, student, youth, exhibitor, or daily registration fees.

Group Discounts

We've made it very cost effective for your organization! Organizations sending five or more registrations in the same envelope are eligible for a 10 percent per person discount off the main conference fee. One payment for all registrations must be enclosed. The discount does not apply to pre-conference sessions, student, youth, exhibitor, or daily registration fees.
